On May 26, 2026, a regular meeting of the Economic Affairs Commission under the CIS Economic Council was held at the CIS Executive Committee office in Moscow. A number of aspects of economic cooperation among the CIS member states were reviewed.
The Commission members:
- considered the draft Main Directions (Plan) for the Development of Radionavigation of the CIS Member States for the period up to 2030,
- reviewed the draft Action Plan for implementing the Strategy for Ensuring Transport Security on the Territories of the CIS Member States for International Transport for the period 2026-2030,
- approved the draft Decision of the CIS Economic Council on granting the technological platform status of “Platform for the Development of Innovative Entrepreneurship” within the framework of the Interstate Program for Innovation Cooperation of the CIS Member States to the digital platform “Business Development Platform” for the period up to 2030,
- considered the information-analytical review “On the State of Archival Affairs in the CIS Member States for the period 2024-2025”.
They also heard:
- the report about the activities of the non-profit partnership “International Innovation Center for Nanotechnologies of the CIS” as the CIS basic organization for scientific and innovation activities in the field of nanotechnology,
- the report about the activities of the Tajik State University of Commerce as the CIS basic organization for training, professional retraining and advanced training of personnel in the insurance sector,
- the overview of phytosanitary monitoring of locust pests in the CIS member states.
An issue of contributions by the CIS member states to the unified budget of the Commonwealth of Independent States bodies in 2026 was discussed.
The next meeting of the Commission is scheduled for June 17, 2026.
