Moscow Hosts Inter-MFA Consultations on Multilateral Economic Diplomacy

Regular inter-MFA consultations on “Current Issues of Multilateral Economic Diplomacy, Including Universal and Regional Formats” were held on May 26, 2026, in Moscow. The event brought together representatives from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and the CIS Executive Committee.

 

The meeting participants considered a wide range of economic issues.

They warned against the politicization of activities within multilateral economic formats, noting the danger of unfair competition, unilateral restrictive measures, and trade barriers that hinder the economic growth.

The participants focused on financial governance, trade, transport and energy interconnections, green development, and regional cooperation. They confirmed their readiness to continue joint work and coordinate approaches on relevant international and regional platforms.

Opportunities for engaging new partners from the CIS in the activities of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation were discussed.

The CIS countries MFA representatives considered the issue Greater Eurasia partnership. They greeted the pooling of regional economic potentials to strengthen overall interconnectedness as the foundation for the well-being and prosperity of Greater Eurasian countries.

The participants agreed to continue inter-MFA consultations within the CIS on the multilateral economic interaction issues.
