The 19th Internship for young scientists and specialists from the CIS countries, organized by the CIS International Nanotechnology Innovation Center, is currently underway at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR) in Russia.
The Center is a CIS basic organization and annually conducts such internships with the support of the CIS Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation and JINR. Young scientists and specialists from all the CIS countries have gathered to participate in the internship, which will run until June 23.
Opening the internship, Director of the CIS International Nanotechnology Innovation Center Alexander Ruzayev briefed the participants on the history of the center’s establishment, its goals and areas of work. During the period from 2010 to 2024, over 500 people took part in the internships, and more than 230 young scientists and specialists received grants from the Center for the development of scientific and innovative projects.
An informal meeting took place between the trainees and heads of national groups of JINR staff, as well as the previous years’ internships participants who subsequently became JINR employees.
During the internship, the young scientists are to visit all seven JINR laboratories and the Educational and Scientific Center, where lectures, excursions to the core facilities, master classes and various practical sessions will be organized for them.
