On June 9, 2026, a meeting was held in Moscow on planning joint work on populating and developing the CIS Geoportal of the Spatial Data Infrastructure, implementing decisions and recommendations of the CIS Heads of Government Council, as well as on preparing for the CIS International Scientific and Technical Conference and Exhibition in the fields of geodesy, cartography, cadastre, spatial data and geoinformation technologies.
The meeting was chaired by Head of the Federal Service for State Registration, Cadastre and Cartography of the Russian Federation, Oleg Skufinsky.
The event was attended by representatives of cartographic and geodetic services of the CIS member states, as well as the CIS Executive Committee.
Following the meeting, a protocol with relevant instructions will be signed.

The CIS Geoportal is the first interstate project in the field of spatial data, addressing a range of socially and economically significant tasks across the Commonwealth space. The Geoportal was put into operation in 2026 and provides centralized access to spatial data, reference information, and application services in a unified digital environment.
