The XI International Cultural and Educational Forum “Children of the Commonwealth” was officially opened on June 15, 2026, at the “Shohin” children’s summer camp located in the city of Guliston, Sughd Region. The Forum will run until June 24.
The Forum is held in coordination with the Chairman of the Majlisi Milli of the Majlisi Oli of Tajikistan, Mayor of Dushanbe Rustam Emomali, and at the initiative of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly’s Secretariat. More than 30 various events are scheduled within the framework of the Forum.
It brings together representatives of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Russia, and Turkmenistan.
During the event, children will learn about the history, culture and national traditions of the participating countries, take part in an intellectual competitions, meetings with sports champions, master classes, educational excursions, a physical education and sports marathon, as well as other friendly competitions.
The organizers and participants of the event were greeted by the Heads of Parliaments of the CIS countries:
- Chairwoman of the Milli Mejlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan Sahiba Gafarova;
- President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Alen Simonyan;
- Chairwoman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Natalia Kochanova;
- Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Igor Sergeenko;
- Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Maulen Ashimbaev;
- Chairman of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic Marlen Mamatalie;
- Chairwoman of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly’s Council, Chairwoman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matviyenko;
- Chairman of the Majlisi milliyi Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan Rustam Emomali;
- Chairwoman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Norbaeva.

The International Cultural and Educational Forum “Children of the Commonwealth” has been held since 2013 in Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Uzbekistan, and Belarus. In 2026, the Republic of Tajikistan was honored to host the event.
The Forum aims to promote cultural dialogue and strengthen friendly ties between representatives of the younger generation of the Commonwealth countries.
