Representatives of the military departments of Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan took part in the meeting of the CIS Committee of Chiefs of Staff of the Armed Forces held on June 18, 2026.
The parties discussed military and political situation in the world and Central Asia, development of multilateral military cooperation and strengthening interaction between the armed forces of the Commonwealth countries. Final documents formalizing agreements on the further development of cooperation between the armed forces of the CIS member states and measures to strengthen stability and security in the region were signed.
The participants also considered:
- developing cooperation in the field of radiation, chemical and biological protection;
- ensuring operational air traffic security;
- studying modern experience in the use of high-tech weapons and military technology
- combat use of missile forces and artillery and the implementation of tasks on demining facilities and territories.
Summing up the results of the meeting, Secretary of the CIS Council of Defense Ministers Lieutenant General Yuri Dashkin noted the high importance of military cooperation within the Commonwealth aimed at strengthening coordination between the armed forces and maintaining regional security.
