CIS Deputy Secretary-General Nurlan Seitimov Sends Video Greeting on Occasion of Turkmenistan Culture Week

Turkmenistan Culture Week is being held in Turkmenistan from June 22 to 27, 2026. The annual creative forum is dedicated to the Day of Culture and Art Workers, as well as to the poetry of Magtymguly Pyragy. The program includes events aimed at preserving historical and cultural heritage, as well as exhibitions, conferences, and concerts.

CIS Deputy Secretary-General Nurlan Seitimov sent a video greeting on the occasion of Turkmenistan Culture Week. In his message, he noted that holding this large-scale event during the year marking the 35th anniversary of the Commonwealth, while Turkmenistan holds the CIS Chairmanship, gives it a special historical significance.

“In today’s world, culture remains a vital instrument of mutual understanding and trust and serves as a foundation for developing cooperation among states,” Nurlan Seitimov emphasized in his greeting.

He drew attention to the fact that the cultural heritage of the peoples of the Commonwealth constitutes the foundation of identity, a source of spiritual values, and an important resource for sustainable development. The Turkmen people’s careful preservation of their spiritual and historical heritage provides a reliable basis for maintaining their national identity.

He recalled that at the initiative of Turkmenistan, the CIS Interstate Television Film Competition, Flight of the Steed: Strength and Grace, is being held this year. The competition aims to preserve and promote the history of horse breeding, a significant component of national culture with traditions dating back thousands of years.

“I am confident that the events of Turkmenistan Culture Week will contribute to further strengthening humanitarian cooperation and to promoting Turkmenistan’s rich cultural heritage on the world stage,” Nurlan Seitimov concluded.
