CIS Secretary-General Sends Greetings to Participants of CIS Network University Coordination Council Meeting

A meeting of the Coordination Council of the CIS Network University was held on June 25, 2026.

The meeting was attended by CIS Deputy Secretary-General Nurlan Seitimov. He conveyed CIS Secretary-General Sergey Lebedev’s greeting to the participants of the event.

The greeting notes that over its 17 years of operation, the CIS Network University, as a successful innovative form of inter-university cooperation, has become a flagship humanitarian project of the Commonwealth. The University’s educational platform has trained a new generation of highly qualified and motivated specialists contributing to the socio-economic development of their countries.

“Since 2010, nearly 1500 master’s students have received high-quality modern education at universities in the CIS member states. Today, the project brings together 48 leading universities from seven Commonwealth countries. Training is provided under 37 master’s degree programs in technical fields and humanities,” the greeting reads.

The greeting also emphasizes that the meeting is being held in the year of the 35th anniversary of the Commonwealth, whose priorities include ambitious goals aimed at enhancing academic and scientific mobility, strengthening inter-university ties, and expanding faculty exchange programs.

The Coordination Council’s agenda covered a wide range of issues, from reviewing the past year’s activities and defining future priorities to updating joint educational programs and organizing admissions for the new academic year.

One of the agenda items focused on the admission of new members to the CIS Network University, reflecting the continued expansion of the project.

The meeting also addressed preparations for the First CIS Forum of Higher Education Teachers, a new format for cooperation and professional interaction in the Commonwealth’s scientific and educational sphere.
