A working meeting of the Coordination Council of the Intergovernmental Courier Communications Service was held in St. Petersburg. The event was attended by heads of courier services of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.
The CIS Executive Committee was represented by Evgeniy Klemez, Director of the Department for Security Cooperation.
Evgeniy Klemez gave a detailed overview of key aspects of cooperation among the CIS member states in various fields, with particular emphasis on security cooperation.
Не also briefed the Council members on the structure and responsibilities of the CIS Executive Committee’s Department for Security Cooperation and provided detailed information on events marking the 35th anniversary of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
During the meeting, the participants considered eight agenda items. They reviewed the results of the Council’s activities in 2025 and discussed personnel matters. In particular, they approved the appointment of a new Council member and considered the appointment of the Executive Secretary.
Special attention was given to the inventory of the Commonwealth’s legal acts governing the operation of the courier communications service in order to align the regulatory framework with current requirements. The participants also exchanged professional experiences in the organization of special communications. A representative of the Courier Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic delivered a presentation on the specifics of the Kyrgyz agency work.
