CIS Secretary-General Meets with Uzbekistan’s Deputy Minister of Employment and Poverty Reduction

A working meeting between Sergey Lebedev, CIS Secretary-General, and Marat Zhurayev, Deputy Minister of Employment and Poverty Reduction of Uzbekistan was held at the CIS Headquarters on June 30, 2026.

 

The parties discussed current issues related to the cooperation among the CIS member states in the social and labor sphere. They paid a particular attention to the activities of the CIS Advisory Council on Labor, Employment and Social Protection of Population in implementing measures aimed at increasing the employment rate and tackling unemployment. Sergey Lebedev emphasized the importance of coordinating efforts and developing common approaches to address these issues within the Commonwealth.

For his part, Marat Zhurayev shared information on measures being implemented in the Republic of Uzbekistan and other CIS countries to support labor markets.

The parties expressed their interest in further strengthening of dialogue and consultations on issues of mutual concern.
