CIS Film Forum Held in Kazakhstan

ROSKINO (a Russian government organization representing the Russian audiovisual content industry in international markets) with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the CIS Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation organized in Almaty, Kazakhstan, a film forum of the CIS member states titled “Central Asia+”.

 

The large-scale event has been held for the first time and in the year marking the 35th anniversary of the establishment of the Commonwealth of Independent States.

More than 20 representatives of Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan served as speakers in the event.

The programme of the event included two business sessions in the House of Friendship. The sessions focused on current issues facing the film industry and were attended by key industry representatives from six CIS countries. During the event, the screenings of films representing various genres from participating countries were shown in the Arman movie theatre.

The Central Asia+ Film Forum aims to strengthen intercultural cooperation and dialogue among the CIS countries, fostering the development of both national film industries and joint film production while promoting the shared values that unite the region.
