On July 1, 2026, a regular meeting of the expert group to agree on the draft General Provisions on the CIS Basic Organizations was held in Moscow via videoconference.
The meeting was attended by representatives of ministries and governmental bodies of the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tajikistan as well as by representatives of the CIS Executive Committee.
The experts thoroughly discussed the proposals for the draft General Provisions, paying special attention to the procedure for granting the status of a basic organization, to the legal status and financing of basic organizations and their representative offices (branches), and to the organization of their activities.
The members of the expert group agreed to continue the work on the draft General Provisions in August 2026.
The draft General Provisions on the CIS Basic Organizations includes general recommendations on the procedure for granting the status of a basic organization, on the main areas of activity of basic organizations and on their interaction with the CIS sectoral cooperation bodies and specialized organizations.
