On March 17–18 in Moscow, the “Healthy Society” Forum was held at the Lomonosov Cluster of the Vorobyovy Gory Innovative Scientific and Technological Center of Moscow State University. The forum annually brings together healthcare system leaders and experts for dialogue and the search for effective solutions in the innovative development of medicine, medical science, and pharmaceuticals, aimed at increasing healthy and active life expectancy, strengthening mental well-being, and creating a favorable environment.
This year, the event brought together Russian specialists and foreign guests, including representatives from:
- CIS countries
- the BRICS
- the SCO
- the CIS Executive Committee.
The Forum was organized by the Roscongress Foundation’s “Healthy Society” ecosystem with the support of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation and the participation of the CIS member states’ basic organization for public health and healthcare informatization – the Central Research Institute for Health Organization and Informatization of the Russian Ministry of Health.
The Forum is one of the key annual events in the public health sphere. This year’s programme included topics dedicated to:
- developing managerial potential in healthcare;
- salutogenic design in medical organizations;
- application of artificial intelligence technologies and health preservation programmes;
- innovations in pharmacology and other issues of industry development.
During the first day’s programme, a session titled “Leaders’ School: Managerial Potential in Healthcare – Flexibility and Adaptation to Industry Changes” was held. It was noted that at the Commonwealth platform, the basic organization for public health and healthcare informatization of the CIS member states – the Central Research Institute for Health Organization and Informatization of the Russian Ministry of Health – has established a three-level system of interaction for training healthcare managerial personnel. A personnel platform for healthcare organizers has been created at the Institute’s premises. The platform has been operating for five years and unites about 5,000 managers. Its geographical coverage includes all subjects of Russia and ten CIS countries. The work format is aimed at continuous training of medical managerial personnel and includes online learning, project activities, in-person meetings, and mentoring. Currently, a “Leaders’ School for CIS Countries” platform is being created, and the final stage will be the establishment of an International Training Center.
On the margins of the Forum, during a round table, Deputy Ministers of Health of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and representatives of the CIS Executive Committee, the basic organization in the field of therapy and preventive medicine, as well as healthcare organizations, discussed issues of preventing behavioral risks in non-communicable diseases. Particular attention was paid to the experience of countries in using restrictions and prohibitions in the context of preventing the spread of NCDs, as well as the effectiveness of the measures applied.
Meeting participants noted that 2026 has been declared the Year of Health Protection in the CIS. This is the time to synchronize joint efforts. In this regard, it was proposed that the best practices of the Commonwealth countries in the prevention of non-communicable diseases be taken into account when developing the draft Plan for implementing the Strategy “Health of the Population of the CIS Member States”.
