On May 28, 2026, the second meeting of the expert group to discuss the draft General Provisions on the CIS Basic Organizations was held in Moscow via videoconference.
The meeting was attended by representatives of ministries and governmental bodies of the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic and the Russian Federation as well as the CIS Executive Committee representatives.
The experts discussed proposals resulting from the discussion of the draft document that took place in March 2026 and decided to continue the work on its harmonization.
The draft General Provisions on the CIS Basic Organizations includes general recommendations on the procedure for granting the status of a basic organization, on the main areas of basic organizations activity and on their interaction with the CIS sectoral cooperation bodies and specialized organizations.
