On June 3, 2026, the second International Congress of CIS Specialist in Respiratory Health begun its work in Moscow. The event is held within the framework of the Year of Health Protection declared in the Commonwealth. It brought together tuberculosis specialists, infectious disease specialists, epidemiologists, pulmonologists, as well as healthcare managers to develop efficient strategies for combating socially significant infections, exchange best practices, and discuss the latest achievements and innovations on the field.
CIS Secretary-General Sergey Lebedev sent his greetings to the participants of the Congress.
The greetings noted that the participants include leading scientists, medical practitioners and experts – people whose energy and professionalism determine the future of pulmonology across the Commonwealth. Their common goal is ambitious: not just to treat patients, but to fundamentally improve the quality of life of millions of citizens.
“It is symbolic that the forum is held during the Year of Health Protection in the Commonwealth. In the era of global change, the event has acquired a special status: it is here, in live dialogue, that a unified strategy for the development of respiratory medicine is born, combining international protocols with the unique clinical experience of our regions,” the greetings state.
It emphasizes that the Congress is a unique platform for exchanging experience, discussing innovative methods of diagnosis and treatment, as well as strengthening professional ties between the Commonwealth countries.
“You are successfully implementing agreed algorithms, turning innovations into accessible treatment methods. The program of the coming days impresses with its depth: from the analysis of post-COVID realities and interdisciplinary interactions to the introduction of digital solutions in respiratory functions monitoring,” Sergey Lebedev noted.
He expressed confidence that the event will become a catalyst for upscaling high-technology methods of diagnosis, and that the initiatives voiced during the Congress should become the foundation for new large-scale international projects.
It should be recalled that the Congress program includes various formats of presentations and discussions: a plenary session, symposiums, a scientific marathon, round tables, clinical case studies, youth scientific competitions, and a special seminar of a WHO Collaborating Center. As part of the Congress, a meeting of the CIS Working Group on Tuberculosis will also take place.
