In implementation of the decision of the Human Rights Commission of the Commonwealth of Independent States, an international creative competition entitled “Right to Health” has been announced. The competition is aimed at developing humanitarian and legal cooperation, as well as raising awareness of human rights in the field of healthcare.
The competition is timed to coincide with the Year of Health Protection in the CIS and is focused on fostering a culture of healthy lifestyles, strengthening citizens’ responsibility for maintaining their own health, and promoting knowledge of human rights in healthcare.
The organizer of the competition is the CIS Human Rights Commission.
Persons residing in the territory of CIS member States are invited to take part.
The competition will be held in two stages:
- National (qualifying) stage: from May 1 to August 31, 2026;
- International (final) stage: from September 1 to November 15, 2026.
The purpose of the national (qualifying) stage is to identify the best authors for participation in the international (final) stage of the competition.
The international stage will feature the best works from the national (qualifying) stage – no more than 10 works per nomination from each state, across two age categories.
At the national level, the organizers of the qualifying stage are the members of the CIS Human Rights Commission, who conduct the stage in coordination with relevant government bodies and organizations.
Information on the holding of the national (qualifying) stage will be posted on the online recourses of the members of the CIS Human Rights Commission and relevant national authorities.
To take part in the national (qualifying) stage, participants must submit an application form (in Russian) to the organizers.
Applications together with the works are accepted in the following nominations:
- Best Essay;
- Best Video;
- Best Photograph;
- Best Drawing.
The competition is held in two age categories: children (up to 14 years old) and adults (14 years and older), which allows to involve a wide range of participants.
More information on the rules of the “Right to Health” competition can be found in the Regulations (in Russian). The Regulations set out detailed requirements for essays, video, photographs, and drawings.
The results of the international stage of the competition will be announced at the seventh meeting of the CIS Human Rights Commission in December 2026. The winners will be awarded diplomas and may also receive additional form of recognition at the national level.
The competition will serve as a platform for participants to realize their creative potential, promote the values of a healthy lifestyle, and strengthen cooperation among CIS member states in the humanitarian and human rights fields.
