Regular Meeting of CIS Council of Permanent Representatives Held in Minsk on April 28

A regular meeting of the Council of Permanent Plenipotentiary Representatives of the Commonwealth Member States to the CIS Statutory and Other Bodies took place on April 28 in Minsk.

 

During the meeting, participants heard information on:

  1. Outcomes of the meeting of the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers and tasks related to the implementation of adopted documents and initiatives put forward.
  2. Progress in preparations for the upcoming meeting of the CIS Heads of Government Council.
  3. Results of implementing activities to observe the Year of the 80th Anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945 in the CIS in 2025 – the Year of Peace and Unity in the Fight Against Nazism.
  4. The 40th anniversary of the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.
  5. Activities of the CIS Interstate Council for Hydrometeorology in 2022–2025.
  6. State and prospects for development of the railway transport sector in the Commonwealth member states.
  7. Results of implementing the Cooperation Program of the CIS Member States in Countering Terrorism and Extremism for 2023–2025.
  8. Draft agenda for the next meeting of the Council.

Following the discussion, the relevant decisions were made.

The next meeting of the Council of Permanent Plenipotentiary Representatives of the Commonwealth Member States to the CIS Statutory and Other Bodies is scheduled for May 26.
