The 3rd Minsk International Conference on Eurasian Security opened on October 28 in Minsk, the capital of Belarus.
The event is held under the auspices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus. The conference has established itself as a prominent international platform for discussing pressing issues of regional and global stability.
Delegations from over 40 countries and 7 international organizations are taking part in the forum. Participants include ministers of foreign affairs, heads of integration associations, as well as representatives of parliaments, research institutes, and analytical centers from Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
The First Deputy Secretary-General of the CIS Igor Petrishenko, Deputy Secretary-General of the CIS Nurlan Seitimov, Head of the CIS Secretary-General's Office Sergey Burutin, and Department for Security Cooperation Director Yevgeny Klemez represent the Executive Committee of the Commonwealth of Independent States at the conference.
CIS Deputy Secretary General Nurlan Seitimov delivered a report at the high-level plenary session of the Conference.
The expert community is also actively participating in the forum, with over two hundred analysts, military specialists, and researchers from leading academic centers in Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia, Uzbekistan, as well as from Austria, Vietnam, the United Kingdom, China, India, Italy, Spain, Serbia, the United States, Switzerland, Sweden, and Finland.
The main theme of the conference is “Global World (Dis)Order and Eurasian Security Puzzle”. The focus of discussions is the analysis of key trends in international relations and developing approaches to forming a new security architecture based on the principles of equality, indivisibility, and mutual respect.
The dialogue between East and West, strengthening confidence-building measures, and preventing confrontation are among the most important items on the forum’s agenda.
The forum began with a high-level plenary session addressed by the President of the Republic of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko. He stated that ignoring the principle of the indivisibility of security is a fatal mistake.
The conference will last until October 29. It will feature thematic panels and expert side events dedicated to strategic stability, arms control, regional interaction, information and economic security, and migration issues.
